About
After studying art history and archaeology, Laurent Chalvignac settled in Versailles in 1985, near the family gallery.
Ten years later, he opened a second gallery with his wife in the Carré Rive Gauche in Paris, offering an international clientele a selection of high-quality furniture and art objects.
Gilded and painted wood console Louis XVI period second half 18th century
A large trapezoidal console table in carved and gilded wood, with rounded sides, a protruding front, and sides decorated with a frieze of palmettes on a gray bas-relief background, inspired by antique designs; supported by four truncated cone-shaped legs, composed of a fluted shaft topped with an lonic capital; the legs connected at the bottom by a carved wooden crossbar, openwork with rosettes on the sides; a round central terrace supporting a large carved wooden vase of antique inspiration.
The original white veined marble tops this console on a wide frieze of carved wooden ovals.
Parisian work attributable to the Ateliers de Jacob, Louis XVI period, second half of the 18th century.

"Martin varnish" chest Louis XVI period stamped "RUBESTUCK"
On the front, the two drawers, which open without crossbars, are decorated with a scene of pagodas in a lakeside landscape, framed by a frieze of foliage; The sides open with two central doors, decorated with a scene of figures strolling on a bridge in a Chinese garden, framed by a frieze of foliage identical to that on the front. The case, whose front uprights are decorated with flat gilded bronze drops, is supported by four ring-shaped feet with sabots. The front drawers open with four mascarons and reveal two gilded bronze keyholes, identical to those on the doors. The piece is topped with a large cavetto marble slab known as "Gris St Anne." Parisian work from the Louis XVI period, circa 1780, stamped F.RUBESTUCK (1722/1785), who became a master craftsman in 1766.

Big two feet wrought iron console Régence period early 18th century
Large console table with wide crook-shaped jambs, decorated with gilded
repoussé rosettes featuring a large central wrought-iron faceplate decorated
with sheet metal leaves and a central monogram; the two iambs are joined at
the bottom by a large bouquet of gilded sheet metal leaves, resting on a molded
wooden base painted in imitation of the upper marble. The mantel is topped with a large original "bleu Turquin" marble.

Cabinet on stand Louis XIV period late 17th century
Large cabinet in blackened and painted wood, inlaid with burgau, with gilded decoration of cities and Asian landscapes, a European interpretation of Japanese lacquerwork, known as "Namban". It is composed of twelve drawers, arranged around a central niche decorated with floral landscapes and birds, opening through two doors, revealing eight small drawers; the cabinet is topped at the top by a wide cornice in doucine, richly inlaid with burgau. The cabinet rests on its original base, consisting of a wide entablature with two drawers, decorated with three scalloped plastrons in the lower part, supported by seven twisted feet, half faceted in the lower part, resting on a straight plinth on eight balls.
