About
Located in the heart of the Carré Rive Gauche, the Hôtel du Quai Voltaire enjoys an exceptional setting on the banks of the Seine, directly opposite the Louvre and just a short walk from the Musée d'Orsay. Nestled within this historic district—home to renowned antique dealers, art galleries, bookshops, and cultural institutions—the hotel embodies the timeless elegance of Paris's Left Bank.
Owned by the Berrut family, Franco-Swiss hoteliers for four generations, the hotel reflects a longstanding tradition of refined hospitality shared with the Hôtel Bedford and the Hôtel de l'Arcade, two distinguished establishments located near the Madeleine.
Following several years of extensive restoration, the Hôtel du Quai Voltaire reopened its doors in March 2025. Now a four-star hotel, it offers 30 elegantly appointed rooms as well as Le Café des Muses, a refined dining venue where travellers, art lovers, and local residents come together.
The hotel has long maintained a close connection with Paris's artistic and intellectual life. Over the years, distinguished figures including Charles Baudelaire, Richard Wagner, Camille Pissarro, Rainer Maria Rilke, Oscar Wilde, and Ernest Hemingway either stayed at the hotel or found inspiration within its walls, contributing to the enduring reputation of this remarkable address.
Today, the Hôtel du Quai Voltaire has reclaimed its vocation as a house of character—a place where the Parisian art of living is enriched by history, creativity, and an ongoing dialogue between past and present.
