Mahogany Cylinder Desk Stamped by Etienne Avril
Roll-top desk in mahogany and mahogany veneer, opening with three stepped drawers, four belt drawers and two pulls.
The cylinder reveals lockers and five drawers and the sliding top is covered in leather.
It rests on four tapered and fluted legs.
Rich ornamentation of chiseled and gilded bronzes.
White Carrara marble top (repaired) surrounded by an openwork gallery in gilded bronze.

Etienne Avril, received Master in November 1774, created all categories of furniture (chests of drawers, secretaries, tables, display cases, etc.)
using mainly mahogany and satin with rigorous and simple lines, specific to the L.XVI style.
Queen Marie-Antoinette was one of the clients, notably for the Château de Saint Cloud.
