Alexandre Dubuisson studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts of Paris in 1827, pupil of Louis Hersent (1777-1860).
He regularly participates in salons in Paris and Lyon which are for him the opportunity to be noticed by paintings mainly presenting landscapes with horses, animal portraits or military scenes.
He exhibited regularly at the Salon de Lyon from 1833 to 1864.
He also exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1835 and regularly until 1869, and received a 3rd class medal in 1844 with Attelage de chevaux faisant la rencontre des bateaux sur le Rhône, entre Valence et Tournon. (Musée de Lyon)
Several of his works are now kept in the collections of Lyon museums, including the painting awarded in 1844.
But also in many other museums, such as the Musée de Grenoble. the Museum of Fine Arts in Dijon, the Dôle museum, the museums of Autun, the museum of Nice, the Strasbourg museum.
